Where can I take IELTS in New Zealand?

IELTS has 18 experienced test centres throughout New Zealand – find your nearest test centre below.

  1. IDP Education has been delivering the IELTS test in Australasia since 2009 through our network of custom-built IDP IELTS test centres. We offer both IELTS computer-delivered and paper based tests at IDP IELTS Auckland and paper based tests at IDP IELTS Northland.
  2. The IELTS centre at the ELA is part of the University of Auckland and has been delivering tests since 2000. It’s New Zealand’s largest provider of IELTS, offering test takers at least three opportunities per month to sit their IELTS test and a range of preparation courses.
  3. Located in the student town of Dunedin, The University of Otago Language Centre and Foundation Year offer the IELTS test at the Dunedin university campus, and also at their QRC campus in Queenstown.
  4. The IELTS Unitec Institute of Technology in Mt Albert has been delivering IELTS tests for over 20 years. They are proud to offer both computer-delivered IELTS and paper based IELTS.
  5. The ARA Institute of Canterbury is the largest vocational institute in the South Island and have been offering the IELTS test for more than 20 years.
  6. The University of Waikato offers IELTS testing at their award winning test centre in Hamilton and Tauranga.
  7. Massey University offers both IELTS computer-delivered and paper based tests in Auckland, at their Albany Campus and Wellington. Paper based IELTS tests are also offered at Palmerston North, New Plymouth & Nelson.
  8. The Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology offers IELTS testing at their Rotorua campus.
  9. The IELTS Test Centre at the Victoria University of Wellington is part of the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies and is located in the Kelburn Campus of the university.
  10. University of Canterbury – Centre for Assessment & Monitoring is situated on the Dovedale Campus in Christchurch. They offer IELTS paper-based tests.
