Priority IELTS booking

For Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) or a Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (subclass 187) visa application

Are you applying for a Permanent Employer Sponsored Entry visa? If you haven’t been able to get an approved English language test for your visa, we can help you with a priority booking.

Are you applying for a Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) or a Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (subclass 187)? If so, you are required to lodge your visa application within six months of the date that your employer nomination is approved. And, to lodge your application, you must have your English test results.

As a result of Covid-19 restrictions across Victoria, some applicants have been unable to get their IELTS test in time to lodge an application.

IELTS and the Department of Home Affairs want to make sure you can get a test as soon as possible to lodge your application. But, there are a few conditions.

Conditions for a priority IELTS test booking

If you meet the following conditions, you can submit a request for a Priority IELTS test booking.

You need to meet both the following requirements

  • You need to be in Victoria and need to sit an IELTS test
  • And you need to apply for a Employer Nomination (subclass 186) or a Regional Sponsored Migration (subclass 187) visa

And one of the requirements below

  • You will turn 45 in the next two months
  • Or you hold a substantive visa that will cease in the next two months (not currently holding a bridging visa)
  • Or you have evidence that you employer’s nomination was approved more than 4 months ago (this would be in the form of a nomination approval letter).

Which IELTS test do I need?
Which IELTS test do I need?

The IELTS test is offered in two formats: IELTS Academic and General Training.

IELTS Academic

We designed the Academic format for those who want to study or train in a university that teaches in English at undergraduate or postgraduate level. Or for other institutions of higher and further education. And, many professions (e.g. medical, nursing, accounting, engineering) also require an Academic test result for registration purposes.

IELTS General Training

The General Training format is if you go to English-speaking countries to do secondary education, work experience or training programs. And sometimes you can use the General Training test for visa applications if you are planning to migrate to English speaking countries.

IELTS is accepted globally by more than 11,000 organisations including universities, professional bodies, employers and Australian student visa and migration applications. Find out who accepts IELTS in Australia here. The IELTS General Training test is the only non-academic test of English accepted for migration to Australia.

Applying for a priority booking indicates you need an IELTS test urgently for your visa. Instead of booking multiple tests in a short period of time. So, for a better result, we recommend doing more preparation and study before you take the next IELTS test. Should I do computer-delivered IELTS or paper-based IELTS

For almost 30 years, IELTS has been a paper-based English test that people have used to achieve their work, study and migration dreams.
