My name is Chien–Yuan I am from Taiwan. I live in Australia and I study at Turner English.
Why did you take IELTS and how did you prepare for it?
I took IELTS because of migration to Australia. In my memory, I was IELTS band 4 four years ago. Now I have to get four band 6, and I am sure I will achieve that very soon. Regarding how to prepare for IELTS, I will say you should put yourself in a correct environment and keep on speaking and listening all day. Consider speaking and thinking in English first, but never give up your mother tongue for your children.
What is your number one tip for learning and practising English?
The first time, I was scared to speak my poor English. People looked at me with a weird face when I trying to explain something in English. One day, I finally convinced myself to catch the chance to speak English. The best way to upgrade your English skill is keeping talking every day. Listening to English learning program while traveling to work. Also, don’t forget at least 30 minutes every day to practice on reading and writing. Perseverance is the most important thing for learning.
