Date of your Speaking test
Your Speaking test will be conducted in the week leading up to your Writing/Reading/Listening test. That means you can focus on the Speaking test first, then focus on the written component of your test.
Location of your Speaking test
Your Speaking test will be conducted at the IDP IELTS Test Centre at Level 7, 170 Queen Street, Melbourne. At this location, we have quiet, custom-built Speaking test rooms to provide the best experience for you to demonstrate your spoken English skills.
How do I find out about my Speaking test date/time
When you book your IELTS test, you can select your preferred Speaking test date and time. We will confirm this with you well before your test.

IDP IELTS Melbourne offers testing at Greenwich College, located at 120 Spencer Street, Melbourne. Greenwich College is conveniently located in the CBD, opposite Southern Cross Station.
Bus
Buses 232, 235, 237, 216, 684 all stop right outside Southern Cross Station. You can also catch the Skybus from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station. The IELTS test venue is located across the main entrance to the train station.
Train
The IELTS test venue at Greenwich College is located across from Southern Cross Station.
Tram
There are many options available to reach the test centre by tram. The closest tram stop is 122-Southern Cross Railway Station/Spencer Street, a 1-minute walk from Greenwich College at 120 Spencer Street. It services tramlines 109, 12, 35, 96. Please check Google Maps or PTV for more information.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your test with a valid passport. If you arrive later than 10 minutes before your test or without a valid passport, you may not be permitted to take the test. In this case, you may also not be eligible for a refund or a transfer of your test.
You should always bring a valid passport to your test (which you can bring into the test room with you). You can also take a clear, unlabelled bottle of water with you into the room.
You can't bring other personal belongings (such as electronic devices, phones, watches, wallets, etc.) into the test room.
Tip: Make sure you know what to expect on the day of your test.

IELTS provides you with an official, secure, digital and paper Test Report Form (TRF).
eTRFs are now available for customers who sit the IELTS on computer test. The eTRF will be available in your booking profile as a downloadable PDF file.
If you sat the paper test, we can either post the TRF out to you or you can come to pick up your results. If you need your original TRF urgently, you can always ask your test centre to express post it to you (just be aware there might be a small additional charge for this).
