Didn’t get the results you need?

We understand the frustration of not achieving your desired IELTS band score for employment, study or migration. The good news is you can request a review (also called an IELTS remark or IELTS Enquiry on Result) within six weeks of sitting your test.

You may choose to have one or more test modules re-marked, and the fee is AUD$240 regardless. We know how important this is to you, and we aim to get the remark to you as quickly as we can. Remarks may be completed within 2 hours to 21 days. If your result is changed to a higher band score, you will:

  • receive a full refund

  • be issued with a new Test Report Form

Before requesting your re-mark (Enquiry on Results) please make sure it is right for you. You will need to pay an Enquiry on Results fee, which is fully refunded if your band score changes. However, you cannot cancel this process once requested, and you will not be eligible for a refund if your score doesn’t change.

Requesting a re-mark

If you feel your results don't reflect your performance on test day, you can request a review of your score(s) through a service called an Enquiry on Results.

During the review process:

  • your Writing and Speaking Enquiry on Results (EOR) re-marking will be completed by experienced senior IELTS examiners.

  • your test centre is then notified of the re-mark result and if the mark has changed, they issue a new Test Report Form.

You will need to pay an Enquiry on Results fee, which is fully refunded if your band score changes. Contact your test centre for more information about fees.

Your result can become available on the same day as your application, within 2 hours to 21 days after your application. The time it takes depends on several factors, including the number of sections you’ve asked us to re-mark. If you have not received a response after 21 days, please contact your test centre .
